Capstone
The Ozark foothills of Arkansas are home to Capstone Treatment Center, a highly regarded treatment facility and behavioral health care program. Families and young adults (14–26) who are struggling with substance abuse and other negative behaviors can find support through Capstone.
Their area of expertise is in helping people who are struggling with more than one addiction as well as other mental health issues, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, self-harm, pornography, trauma, isolation, attachment difficulties, and family strife.
“Capstone is truly a Christian treatment center, but one that has a level of professional excellence and expertise that is second to none,” the center proudly proclaims to the world on its website. Jesus Christ is reflected in every facet of Capstone, but He is never imposed on anyone. A place where children are loved, believed in, worked with, and fought for; not a religious camp.
Each of the four 30-day phases of the 90-day residential program consists of non-medical detox, daily group therapy, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), 12-Step facilitation, canine therapy, and three weekly individual sessions.
Everyone who visits Capstone is greeted by a puppy. Before or after lunch, clients have “Puppy Time,” a canine therapy session designed to promote healing through one-on-one bonding between clients and their puppies.
Canine therapy helps people who are depressed or who have experienced physical or sexual abuse to rebuild their trust in others and themselves. As the client’s relationship with their puppy develops, they are permitted to take the puppy home with them.
The cabin-like rooms at Capstone Treatment Center are 4,000 square feet in size. There is a state-of-the-art gym, a ropes course, and a disc golf course for the clients to use. The compassionate staff and innovative treatments at Capstone Treatment Center are what set them apart. Capstone is a private, fee-only institution with CARF accreditation.
