Greetings, my name is Katie. The two dogs, the husband, and I call East Greenwich, Rhode Island home. I run Brave Hearts Photography, where I do most of the wedding photography. I’ve been a professional photographer for more than five years and have covered about a hundred weddings.
In high school in Manchester, Connecticut, I was introduced to black-and-white film photography. During my seven-year hiatus from photography, I earned a degree from Providence College and worked as a corporate employee in the financial sector. In 2012, while preparing for my wedding, I got interested in (digital) photography again.
It became obvious to me that I could give other people the joy of reliving the magic of their wedding day through photographs, which I found to be an incredible experience for myself. In January 2014, I dove headfirst into wedding photography after brushing up on my skills at the Silvermine Art Guild in New Canaan, Connecticut, and working as a second photographer.
My personal wedding experiences naturally developed into a documentary style. Having all of my loved ones in one place was the best part of my wedding, and hearing stories about the wild antics that ensued was a welcome bonus. I learned firsthand how critical it is to be in the moment after enduring the hassle of organizing my wedding. And have someone take pictures without distracting you to preserve those priceless memories.
My hobbies outside of work include landscape photography and vacationing in exotic locations. In addition to being interested in and knowledgeable about history, I also enjoy antiquing and see myself as a family historian.
