Timothy Paul Sullivan
Tim Sullivan attended the University of Nebraska College of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 1999. Tim is a practicing attorney at this time. In 2010, he was honored with the Visionary Award by the Nebraska Lawyers Foundation. Tim spent his formative years in Japan, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nebraska, Virginia, and California, split between public and private schools. Tim was a student in the Nebraska City school district for two years.
Tim joined the United States Air Force after graduating from Lourdes in 1977 and has since worked as a Security Specialist at the Lincoln Regional Center, a Corrections Officer, Corporal, Unit Supervisor I, Sergeant, and Lieutenant for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, and a Corrections Officer with the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Tim enrolled at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in the incoming freshman class of 1993. In 1996, Tim finished high school with honors and was accepted to law school. In May of 1999, he earned his J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law, and in 2000, he opened his law firm. Before relocating to Costa Rica with his family in 2006, Tim worked as a private attorney from 2000 to 2002, then as a staff attorney for the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles from 2002 to 2006, and finally as an assistant attorney general from 2006 until his departure.
They stayed for a year and a half, during which Tim served as the assistant editor of an English-language newspaper. After relocating his family to Lincoln in June 2007, Tim has been practicing law privately.
Vanessa Jean Gorden
After completing her undergraduate and master’s degrees at USD, Vanessa enrolled in USD’s law school and graduated with a J.D. in 2005. She placed in the top ten percent of her law school class and was inducted into the prestigious Thomas Sterling Honor Society. Before relocating to Lincoln in 2008, Vanessa worked as a lawyer in the outlying areas of northeast Nebraska. Vanessa has spent her entire professional life representing clients in probate court on matters involving family law, juvenile law, and guardianship/adoption.
Vanessa is grateful for the opportunity to have participated in the Nebraska State Bar Association Leadership Academy in 2008-2009. Moreover, she has led the Nebraska State Bar’s Volunteer Lawyers’ Project. In 2015, Vanessa was named one of the “Top 10 Attorneys Under 40” by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys, and in 2016, she received the “10 Best Client Satisfaction Award” from the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. Furthermore, Vanessa has completed the 2019 NITA/ABA Family Law Trial Academy.
Zachary Hadenfeldt

Zachary attended the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he received his BA in History and Philosophy and his BS in Political Science. Later, he attended the University of Nebraska College of Law and graduated with a J.D. As a law clerk for the Nebraska Legal Aid Native American Program during law school, he researched tribal jurisdictions, advised clients, and prepared criminal and family law case briefs for trial.
He also served as a law clerk for the City Attorney in Lincoln. As of right now, Zachary can legally assist Nebraskans. Zachary was a contract analyst for Ho-Chunk, Inc.’s Flatwater Group in Bellevue, Nebraska, before he joined the Lancaster County family lawyers at Stange Law Firm. There, he was responsible for drafting and reviewing purchase orders and subcontracts. While working on federal contracts, he looked into compliance issues and updated the database.
Zachary was also the Awards Coordinator in the Office of Sponsored Programs at his university, where he handled the administration of awards and mutual transfer agreements for faculty and staff. Erick Martin

Erick most recently worked as an Attorney for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services before joining the Omaha, Nebraska Divorce Lawyers at the Stange Law Firm. He participated as a department representative in child welfare court cases. He also learned how to write the various legal documents that are required during a trial, such as motions and subpoenas. He also improved his communication skills and made an effort to have problems resolved quickly.
Erick has been working as an attorney in Nebraska for the past four years for a variety of businesses and organizations. While attending law school, Erick worked as a law clerk for a firm and an intern for the Harris County District Clerk’s office. Erick enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, running half marathons in all 50 states, watching sports, grilling, and reading when he’s not practicing law.
